Device Repair, Collection & Home-Service Terms
Service-specific authority, data, access, safety, diagnosis, repair, collection and abandoned-device conditions.
1. Application
These terms apply to device intake, drop-off, collection, return, diagnostics, repair, upgrade, installation, data transfer, data recovery attempts, home visits and related technical work by Vistanova Global Ltd trading as Tech Solutions Cyprus.
2. Ownership and authority
The customer confirms ownership or lawful authority over the device, storage media, software, accounts and data. We may request identity, proof of purchase, business authority or other evidence and may decline instructions that appear unlawful, unsafe or intended to bypass security or access controls.
The customer must disclose employer-owned devices, managed systems, insurance claims, evidence preservation requirements, stolen-device concerns and any restriction imposed by a manufacturer, administrator or third party.
3. Backups and data risk
The customer is responsible for maintaining an adequate backup before service whenever reasonably possible. Diagnostics, failing storage, malware removal, operating-system work, firmware changes, repair, disassembly and data transfer can expose or worsen existing faults. Data can be altered, corrupted or lost even when reasonable care is used.
We do not guarantee data preservation or recovery. A data-recovery engagement is a best-efforts assessment unless a written agreement states a measurable result. We will not intentionally inspect personal files beyond what is reasonably necessary, but thumbnails, filenames, logs or content may become visible during authorised testing.
Tell us before service if a device contains health, legal, financial, children, employee, client, government, export-controlled or other highly sensitive information. We may require encryption, a restricted workflow, a business data-processing agreement or removal of the storage device.
Nothing excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. Any data-risk allocation is applied fairly, taking account of our duty to exercise reasonable care and skill.
4. Access credentials and encryption
Provide only the access needed for the authorised task. Do not send passwords or recovery keys through ordinary chat. We may ask you to enter a credential directly, create a temporary account or provide a temporary credential through an agreed secure method. You are responsible for manufacturer locks, activation locks, encryption keys and account recovery unless expressly included in the work.
We do not bypass lawful security controls or help gain unauthorised access. If ownership or authority cannot be verified, work stops and only official recovery or human guidance is offered.
5. Diagnosis and quotation
Reported symptoms are not a diagnosis. A diagnostic, call-out, collection or assessment fee may be payable once the disclosed service begins, whether or not a repair is technically possible or later authorised. A quotation may change if hidden damage, incompatible parts, prior repair, corrosion, counterfeit parts, board damage, malware, licensing or additional faults are discovered. We will request approval before additional chargeable work.
6. Parts, software and licences
Replacement parts may be new, refurbished or compatible as stated in the quotation. Manufacturer warranties and availability are controlled by the supplier. Removed parts are returned only if requested before work and legally or practically available. The customer must own valid software licences. We may install updates or drivers reasonably necessary for testing, subject to the agreed scope.
7. Home and business premises
The customer must provide safe, lawful access, an adult contact and accurate information about hazards, parking, pets, electrical conditions, networks and equipment. We may leave or refuse unsafe premises. Home support is limited to eligible tasks; a device may need collection for bench work after explanation and approval.
The customer authorises reasonable connection of test equipment and access to the systems included in the request. Work on business networks may require written administrator approval and a defined maintenance window.
8. Collection, transport and return
A collection request is not a confirmed appointment until separately accepted. Collection and return charges cover transport and handling and may apply regardless of repair outcome when disclosed before confirmation. The customer should remove loose accessories not needed for testing and ensure the collection description is accurate. We record custody and use reasonable packaging and care.
Risk and remedies for loss or physical damage during our custody are determined by applicable law and the facts. We do not ask a consumer to waive rights that cannot be waived.
9. Testing and configuration changes
The customer authorises proportionate testing needed to verify the complaint and completed work, which may include restarts, network connection, test accounts, diagnostic utilities and temporary configuration changes. We will avoid unnecessary access and restore settings where reasonably possible. Security software, updates or factory resets are performed only within the authorised scope.
10. Completion, collection and unclaimed devices
We notify the customer using the recorded contact details. Payment is due as stated on the invoice or quotation. Devices should be collected promptly after notice. If a device remains unclaimed, we will make reasonable contact attempts and provide written notice before applying any lawful storage charge, disposal, recycling or other remedy. Ownership is not treated as abandoned merely because a short period has passed. Mandatory notice and property rules apply.
11. Service warranty and exclusions
We warrant reasonable care and skill and will inspect a reported recurrence within the written service-warranty period, if any. A service warranty does not cover unrelated faults, new damage, liquid exposure, malware reinfection, customer or third-party changes, unsupported software, consumables, normal wear or failure of a different component. Statutory rights remain unaffected.
